School’s out. No classes to attend. Just a temporary curriculum of some highly anticipated playtime. Still, there is a lot we can learn about the 2021 Spring Break of partying in Puerto Peñasco. These lessons whether “good or bad,” will be quite valuable. Whatever they prove, may have both an immediate and long-lasting impact.
If visiting Rocky Point during the 2021 Spring Break, you have gotten a test sample. You know the city’s curfews were expanded. There already has been plenty of round the clock socializing and not so much social distancing. Mask wearing and drinking don’t mix well either inside or outdoors. And much of these activities will be continuing right up to the closing bell of each person’s designated vacation period.
But what will all of this mean? A terrible taco or a big nothing burger?
The topic has a wide-ranging area of interest. It includes matters such as anatomy and physiology. Plus, psychology, sociology, and human behavior. World politics, economics, and geography. Biology, medicine, and other forms of science.
All these elements will be shaken and stirred together like an exotic cocktail. Let’s call it a “Pandemic Punch.” What it tastes like is anybody’s guess.
Do you remember that teacher or college professor handing out assignments over Spring Break? If so, you may recall having to jump from relaxing to working mode in a hurry.
Only this time, the ones doing the cramming will not be elementary, high school, or college students. It is the scientists, medical experts, public health, and government officials. These are the career professionals tasked with the difficult assignment of quickly analyzing and understanding data based on the 2021 Spring Break activities.
Some of the key questions waiting for answers are:
– Will Covid-19 be spreading in Puerto Peñasco after the 2021 Spring Break?
– Does this impact Semana Santa and the Summer? If so, how?
– If there is a spike in cases from fun in the Rocky Point sun, how far does it reach? Beyond the usual southwestern border states, I personally saw license plates from Iowa, Utah, Colorado, and Washington.
– And on the brightest side. If there are not dark footprints left in the Puerto Peñasco sand, how soon will everything be back to “normal”?
I don’t know the answers. But somehow for Rocky Point Mexico, I know we’ll all be grateful if the 2021 Spring Break and Covid-19 receive a passing grade.
