It happens to the best of us. Sometimes in life we find ourselves doing things because we feel we have nothing to lose. Creating a Rocky Point Direct Host Profile is not one of those times. And that is true even though you have nothing to lose here financially. There is no fee for listing your property. You have no out-of-pocket cost. And finally, you are free from paying those ridiculous high fees the giant online booking sites have been charging.
The only thing to spend here is a few minutes time creating your Rocky Point Direct Host Profile.
But, before we jump right into it, let’s get you in the ideal mindset. Start thinking like guests, your customers.
Please remember, some potential guests will need to see more than your property. They will want to check you out personally as well. So be genuine. Be honest. But be friendly and accommodating. That’s what most people want in a host. And making a good first impression can be the beginning of a long-lasting mutually beneficial relationship.
We’ve broken this down into baby steps. It will be easy.
Step 1. Become a Host
Go to the upper right-hand corner of our homepage. Click the white box which says, “Become a Host.”
This will take you to a new page with the same title. If you are good to go, simply stay in the upper right and create a username.
But if you would feel even better after getting a quick knowledge drop on why you should become a Rocky Point Direct Host, you can scroll down an entire page filled with insights on the benefits you will receive. Okay?
Back up to the top of the page.
Step 2. Create a Username and Password
Keep in mind when creating a username there are no blank spaces allowed. Try securing the username you want if it’s available.
Next, enter a password. It must include 1 capital letter, 1 number and 1 special character. Repeat the password.
Step 4. Agree to Terms and Conditions
Check the box that says, “I agree with your Terms and Conditions.” Granted, this is a lot of the blah blah blah stuff typically on websites. There are no hidden surprises. But if you are interested in reading this in its entirety, you can find the page in our footer section.
Step 5. Register
Click the Register button and wait for an email confirmation. We suggest getting organized by creating a new folder for Rocky Point Direct as part of your email account.
Step 6. Login & Intro to Dashboard
Your next step is to Login. You have options for logging in. You can do so with Facebook, Google, or by using your email and password.
If you ever forget your password, you can get a new one. But you will owe me a margarita. Our system won’t send you notifications about it though. Margaritas among friends of Mexico are strictly on the honor system.
Once you logged in, let’s introduce you to your dashboard. If you hover over the area in the upper right corner where your username is located, your dashboard will magically appear. This is your personal home base for your profile, listings, bookings, finances, and messages.
Step 7. Completing your Profile
NOTE: To be sure, click each section’s Save Button as you go.
We begin with a photo. Please use a real one of you. Unless of course all you have is wearing orange and it is a criminal mug shot with your height seen on the wall behind you.
Remember, your profile is important in building trust, especially with those guests who require it. So filters, animated images, or irrelevant images can cause people to think, have doubts, and wonder what else you may be hiding.
You want to use a square image. One that is at least a minimum of 100 by 100 pixels. I’d title the photo. rocky-point-direct-your-username.
NAME & LANGUAGE:
Then you have a few boxes for your name and language info. Hopefully this is one of those parts which is self-explanatory.
Next you will see blank space for a bio. What do you want people to know about you personally or strictly about you as a Host? Again, we suggest using this section as an opportunity for connecting with potential guests.
In this section, please enter your residence or mailing information. Yes, we will be paying you electronically, but we may need to send something in the mail to you. Who knows? It could be a gift.
Emergency contact information. Heaven forbid. We hope to never need to use this. But you know, if the situation calls for it, you want to make sure this information is accurate.
What did we ever do before social media? Select whatever accounts you have. And you might want them to be ones you don’t mind people seeing. This section will only publicly show what links you post. We will never post any of your social media links.
SAVE & CELEBRATE
One last Save. Now your Rocky Point Direct Host Profile is done. As soon as you are ready, we can move on to adding the second, even more important part of our online beauty contest: your property listing. Who said renting properties wasn’t like online dating?
Go to the Menu on the left side of the page and click Add Property Listing. Let’s continue if you’re ready NOW!
